What is Home Heating Oil?

The main differentiation between energy supplied from the grid and heating oil is that heating oil is delivered by road and stored in a tank, which then fuels an oil fired boiler or AGA/Cooker.  Although some domestic boilers use gas oil, the vast majority of oil-fired boilers and cookers are fuelled by heating oil.

Heating oil is also known as Burning Oil, Kerosene or 28 second oil. It is the most commonly used source of heating oil for domestic boilers, kitchen ranges and oil fired cookers or AGAs. A small proportion of domestic boilers use Gas Oil, but these are generally found in larger properties or schools. Our minimum delivery of home heating oil is 500 litres. All deliveries are made through independently calibrated meters to ensure that when you buy heating oil online you can do so with confidence.

We also now offer Premium Kerosene which has been treated with specialist fuel additives to make it burn more cleanly and efficiently than standard kerosene. This means that through continuous use it can help improve the efficiency and reliability of your heating system and help to reduce the amount of oil you use.
