Siberian weather set to stay
After one of the mildest winters on record the latest cold snap has caught many by surprise causing a sharp increase in the demand for
heating oil.
According to Met Office reports the weather system from Siberia is set to continue with plenty of freezing nights to come and could see night-time temperatures fall as low as -9C in some areas. Apparently the drop in temperature has been caused by freezing air from Russia colliding with mild air from the Atlantic.
Forecasters have warned that the cold snap may stay with us until mid-February. Once again this situation means that heating oil users in particular should check their oil levels to ensure they have adequate heating oil to see them through.
